Holy Temple Christian Academy School Uniform Guidelines Revised for 2011-2012 The standard of dress at HTCA is designed to contribute positively to the learning environment and our commitment to academic excellence and Christian values. Students should reflect good taste, cleanliness, neatness, and modesty in their daily appearance. The uniform guidelines are clearly stated so that the parents can assist the students with being successful in meeting the school’s guidelines. Daily Uniform Dress **All uniforms MUST be purchased from the uniform company: In Unison School Apparel Shirts: Polo or Rugby shirt with required school logo. Only the top button may be unbuttoned. Light Blue shirts for Pre-kindergarten – Grade 8 Grey, Burgundy, or Rugby shirts for High School Students Pants (boys at all grade levels): Navy blue dress or navy blue ‘Dickie’ style pants. Pants must be worn at waist level with belt. Shorts (boys in preschool-Grade 5): Navy blue shorts only. Shorts should not extend below the knee. Shorts must be worn at waist level with belt. Skirts (girls at all grade levels): Navy blue or plaid uniform skirts only. Skirts must reach top of knee. Skirts should fit tight enough at waist as not to “droop” off of waist. There are many acceptable styles available. If you are unsure of style, you may request to see samples in the main office. Jumpers (preschool & elementary girls): Navy blue jumpers. There are many acceptable styles available. If you are unsure of style, you may request to see samples in the main office. Skorts (preschool – 5th grade girls only): Navy blue or plaid skort should reach the top of knee. There are many acceptable styles available. If you are unsure of style, you may request to see samples in the main office. Capri pants (high school girls only) Khaki or navy blue Capri pants should be comfortable and loose-fitting Belts: plain navy blue or black belts must be worn on all pants or shorts Socks: must be plain black, navy blue, white, tan, or light blue. “No show” socks are not permitted. Trouser socks are acceptable for girls. Stockings: Navy blue, light blue, or flesh colored stockings are permitted. Shoes: · Acceptable colors: Navy blue, black, white, tan, burgundy · May be athletic or dress shoe
Jackets Jackets must be purchased from the uniform company! Thermal shirts ~winter only! During the winter months students are allowed to wear thermal type shirts under the required uniform shirt. However, the only acceptable colors are white, light/navy blue, and black. Sweaters/Vests/Windbreakers These types of outer garments are acceptable during “cool” weather or when classrooms are chilly for students. They are to be navy blue or black without logos, characters, etc. and must have buttons or zipper clearly visible on them. Sweatshirts are not allowed as part of the school uniform at any time. Hair Boys: Must maintain a brush cut and be well groomed at all times. Designs in the haircut are not allowed. Girls: Extravagant hairstyles are not permitted. Unnaturally colored and two-tone hair designs are not allowed. Hair must be a natural COLOR. Rule of thumb: If you are unsure, ASK! Hats Hats are not permitted during regular uniform dress days. Jewelry It is requested that children in Pre Kindergarten – Grade 2 not wear jewelry as we are NOT responsible for loss or damage to these items. For all other students, jewelry should be kept to a minimum. A small gold or silver chain with/without a Christian symbol is the only necklace permitted. No more than two rings and bracelets are allowed for girls. Girls may wear ONE PAIR of earrings. Boys are not allowed to wear earrings.
Grades 3-8:Physical Education (available from uniform company) School PE tee shirt in heather gray PE shorts in navy blue (no shorter than mid-thigh) During winter months: Sweatpants or jogging pants in heather gray, black or navy blue |
